I'm Here, Now What?Getting started with booth setup. Some simple tips to make the process easier for you.
- Keep all the packing materials that came with your booth. You'll need them for the return. If you toss them in the aisles the show maintenance will come by and grab them. So, as you unpack, just toss them back in the crate or case.
- If you are using a labor crew, it's always a plus to round up their time to the nearest half hour increment. They will appreciate it and you'll have great service on the teardown. Remember – Tipping is forbidden. Another thing that's nice is to provide bottled water to the crew, especially during long setups.
- Utilize your crew to help you get what you need. If you are in need of the electrician, your lead crew member can help you get it done. They often know the electricians or know who to go to for the help you need.
- Get the “Crate Empty” stickers from the show desk. Don't forget to put your name and booth number on the stickers.
- Before you leave for the day, make sure that you lock up any computers, giveaways and other items securely. Security cages are often available from the show.
- Most important: If you have a purse or laptop with you during setup, NEVER walk away and leave it unattended. You are inviting theft. It has happened and will happen again.
